Rural Alaskan Traffic Jam.

Rural Alaskan Traffic Jam.

How many of you have ever had to say: “Sorry I’m running late; I’m stuck behind a helicopter.”?

Just another day in rural Alaska 😜

  • Different! Nice to see blue sky too. In England, under heavy grey skies, we’re seeing 4x4s getting stuck behind kayaks as they make their way along the flooded High Street in many towns here.

    • Our flooding season in south-central Alaska is typically in April or May once all of the snow begins to melt. Another name for spring here is “breakup” since it is the time of year when frozen river ice starts to break-up and water starts to flow. I am certain that you will read more about breakup on this blog once it begins 🙂 I think we have some time yet, as it was below zero (F) here last night.
