For My Candle Peeps.

For My Candle Peeps.

The Holiday Mercantile Artisan Co-op at Moore’s Hardware is one of My Favorite Things ™ about Talkeetna. I have always been in awe of what my friends and neighbors create. I too love creating things and have tried for years to be a part of this wonderful Talkeetna fixture, but it never quite came together. This year I’m going HARD. I am making four different crafts for the Holiday Mercantile and I am so excited!

When John posted my test run on the beeswax candles, it was just kind of a preview. Like:

I didn’t anticipate that any of my friends outside of Talkeetna (or those not comfortable coming to the co-op in person this year due to COVID) might want to buy a candle as well.

Thank you so, so much for supporting my arts and crafts! I of course would be more than happy to ship our beeswax candles to you! The best way to do these pre-orders at the moment is by email, since the larger candles will not fit in a small, pre-paid, priority mail box, I would have to find a proper box and weigh it to know what the shipping cost would be for you.

The small, “mini beehive” candle contains approximately 1 ounce of 100% pure, Alaskan beeswax and stands 1.5 inches tall. The larger candle stands 3 inches tall and contains about 3 ounces of wax. The wicks are made of hemp. I would promise that they were not made with child labor, but the older children do so love making candles with mom 😉 I have three batches of wax, each is of a slightly different coloration since this is a natural item made by bees. I keep the batches separate for uniformity in candle color, but cannot guarantee that your candles will look exactly like the ones in the picture; they may be slightly lighter or darker).

The mini beehive sells for $3.00 and the pillar sells for $6.00 (I cannot guarantee these prices at the co-op, as by then I will have exhausted my wax supply and thus my supply will be finite and limited at that point: Cottage Capitalism).

The best way to pre-order candles before the mercantile opens is to send me an email at aduxxx@gmail.com with your order. Once completed, I can email you the shipping cost and see if that is agreeable to you. I do not skimp on packing material, as I’ve sent too many delicate arts through the mail that ended up ruined, but I do try to keep it as economical as possible (I can pack several beehives in a small, flat-rate USPS box).

Thank you again for supporting my love of creating things! I would not have cared if a single item sold at the mercantile co-op; this is my labor of love. I love creating things and sharing them with all of you. You will just keep me in wicks, and paints, and gourds, and moss, and all the other amazing things I use to create my little treasures.
