As you may know, we are a circus family. Believe it or not, but the Green Light Circus put on by the Denali Arts Council was a HUGE factor in our decision to move to Talkeetna. We have always been a family that values theater and the arts.
While we wanted to live remote, we also wanted our children to be able to enjoy the arts, and that is how we settled on Talkeetna. This year will be our ninth year with the Green Light Circus.
With many schools closed due to the practice of social distancing because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of my friends are suddenly, temporarily homeschooling families. One of GLC’s fantastic instructors, Chris, is in the same boat, as his day job is at a school that is closed. I see two needs here and I think I can fill them both! (I’m such a pimp, I should really shop at Leroy Menswear).
Chris, besides being an amazing teacher and juggler extraordinaire, is also a purveyor of handmade, quality juggling props!
If your kids are bored and isolated at home, why not try some juggling? It’s super fun! And requires dedication and practice. There are many beginner juggling tutorials online. When school is back in session, they’ll have a whole new skill to share with their friends. Chris’ shop is found HERE. You can also check out some of his past creations on Insta @alchemyjuggling and cool juggling videos and pictures @yostofer.
Chris is also making props by donation for the Green Light Circus. If you wish to donate props to our circus program, it would be so appreciated by all of us in our little village.
I’d better not be hearing about any bored children since they could be juggling!
